Thin, red-skinned humanoids, the Elomin of the planet Elom have pointed ears and four hornlike protrusions emerging from the tops of their heads. They are often mistaken as devils, much in the same vein as Devaronians are, but the Elomin are more akin to Zabraki than anyone else. They admire and promote order in all things, with a regimented sense of sequence in music, art, construction, and warfare, as examples. Because they see other species as chaotic, random, and unpredictable, they prefer to work homongenously, or, with their own kind. Their participation within the Republic is at this level, with starships crewed completely by Elomin, and no other species.

With nothing more advanced than slug-throwers and combustion engines, the Elomin welcomed representatives from the Old Republic in years past. They accepted technological aid and soon joined the rest of the galaxy among the stars.

Elom (or Mole)

They share their planet with the much more reclusive, but still sentient, Elom. The Elom primarily live in burrows, only coming out when absolutely necessary. Their dealings with their fellow humanoids has not been violent, but it hasn't been optimum either. The Elomin viewed, and tried to explain to the Republic, that they were nothing more than big, dumb animals. Indeed, their tusked noses, wide-set, protruding eyes, heavy fur pelts, and a penchance for digging holes doesn't broadcast an advanced intelligence. But, they were recognized as a sentient lifeform by the Republic, and granted rights as citizenry.

During the height of the Empire, the Elomin and their world were placed under martial law. They were forced to labor for the Imperial effort, mining lommite for their Imperial masters. After the Battle of Endor, the Elomin took a place among the member worlds of the New Republic.
